Old Memories

I guess its high time to bring some cheer into these posts... So here's a flash back to a song that I LOVE. Why... well first of all it centres around a KASHMIRI girl, second it's about the simplicity of Kashmiri life style, third, I've always wanted to dress like that  :))) oh and also cause it's of a period when songs and dramas had substance in them, a time... those good old ptv days.... when everything was innocent and slow paced. Everything had quality. Had class. Here's to the 90s!

Fraternity at KE

SO we've been helping F.AK sell KE-logo-imprinted Mugs at zero point for some days, for 'AKHUWAT KE CHAPTER'. The experience lead us to realize that KE has:
Buy a MUG and help the POOR

----) People who are born to just comment and do nothing! grrr :/

----) People who have the largest of hearts, and warmly spend when they hear the name 'charity' even without seeing the mug :)

----) People who have NO etiquettes and sadly haven't been taught not to sneer/snigger in public at others :/

----) People who are willing to stop and listen politely to what you say, even if they cant buy :)

----) People who might seem kinda whacky or proud but who yank out cash cause they surprisingly have a big heart hidden inside them :)))))

----) People who have been blessed with huge TALENT, yet they think charity is LAME, and make g.r.o.s.s. faces when they hear the word :/ :/ (SERIOUSLY! It was like we were asking them to step onto dung or something :0) I pity these talented ones the most!

----) People who spend AAAAAlot on food and at the funfair but who furiously shake their heads when it comes to charity :0

----) People who didn't have the cash then but who went and borrowed it, and came back to get a mug awwww :)))))))))

----) People who reply instantly with a yes on texts :) and those who don't bother to rep back :0

----)People who have great courtesy and buy the mug only cause they know you, and are willing to help you, and cause they're great colleagues :))))))))))))))))))

May Allah accept our efforts.
It was a huge eye opener, this experience. We learnt that complete strangers can be so polite and generous, or utterly rude; and that people you know can be extremely cold or exceedingly warm. That people you've judged to be arrogant are actually quite generous and that people you believe were nice, aren't so.
I'm glad I've learned that. Amusing. :D

No... please... not again...

A mother crying on the tele.

Martyred Lieutenant Syed Yasir Abbas
May He Rest in Peace, and his life not go in waste. Ameen.

Another terrorist attack...

Young brave people...of my country... dead.
Assets... of this country... earned so painstakingly... burnt.

Flames. Sorrow. Grief.
Lives gone.
A mother crying on the tele.
Mourning. Despair. Shock. Sadness. The 'Know' that it'll happen again.

This isn't happening ANYWHERE else.
It's only PAKISTAN.
Suicide attacks, bombs, attacks on our own men, women children, it doesn't make SENSE.
No sense in why it's happening.
No sense in why it's happening in PAKISTAN.
This was NOT our war.
Yet we're the ones suffering the most.
Quietly. Without the rest of the World CARING THE LEAST.
Suffering.
...as I hear a mother crying on the tele...

Uh oh

Ok... I put in my friend's usb, had to scan it for viruses...did... and the DAMN anti virus program deleted everything on the usb.

I'm in trouble.

Nobody tell Z.S.. Please. :s

Going GaGa!

All of the below were overlapping soooo much! I was thiiiiiiiiiiiis close to cracking!

Exhausted n sleep deprived me....
Don't ask what I wrote in my pharma test... that paper will be of use, solely when it's recycled!!
What I needed, was some rest, relaxation..... a TRIP!
And ooooh yeaaaaaaaaaaaah got JUST that! (Come to think of it me n my buds stayed awake most of the time, so sleep deprivation persisted for another 27 hours!!)
Trip details coming sooon :)
But before that, here's to not going bonkers!

DIL TOU RONA NAHIN

I am NOT a music fan... various reasons; There's religious... n then taste... I'm not into all those mushy romantic songs ppl have saved in their cells (My two exceptions: I really really really like When you Say Nothing at All- Ronan Keating and At the beginning -from Anastasia)... I hate those terrible Bollywood songs that are waaaaaaaay too in nowadays (anybody say Munni and I'm grabbing a dagger!)
Ai Jawan- Pure Pakistani-ism at its best!

What I love to hear are Pak-patriotic songs like Dil sai, Junoon, Ai Jawan, Tera Karam Molla, Hum hain Pakistani ...Beautiful beautiful songs, that have so many memories and so much meaning to them... Aww reminds you of the superb 90s don't they.. :') Yeah so anything patriotic gets me going. And of course sport songs!! Wavin Flag, Waka Waka, Stand up for the Champions... or songs on life like It's my life, Summer of 69, MJ's Beat it, Black or White, Heal the World...

But I came across this vid. It's lyrics are very touching! AND IT'S SHOT AT KE!!!!! Like WOW!!
The vid makes KE look like some sort of ultra cool palace!
It's so encouraging that yes, you still have time to fulfil all those ambitions you've dreamt up, all those wishes you've hoped would come true...

And then I came across this; the same song, sung slowly with shots of the terrible earthquake we went through a few years back:

Now This vid really inspired me. There are so many people who have to go through so much. Look at what they have to face. Dead families. Lost limbs. I can't imagine having to go through that.
I'm going to work hard now, so that I can help people like that, whenever they need me. I'll try to dry as much tears as I can. Dil tou Rona Nahin.
God bless Pakistan. Forever and Ever. May we have PEACE.

Politics

I like our girls' rep. She's v. supportive, is always bright when you meet her and doesn't get angry a bit when you bombard her with texts about tests. She's not the bravest person but she's got a lot of good in her.

Now I know with experience that some of the girls in our class (think annoying attitudes plus wheezy whines plus constant complaints) are hard to deal with. I mean, the class vid, halloween, cine star... my friends and I got a huge thumbs up for them all... WE know what we had to go through to get all those jobs done. Some girls just don't have their own opinions, they can never make a decision on time, they act too sophisticated to care when you ask them to take part in a class event (even though they're the loudest loudspeakers when it comes to discussing that our class lags in events and unity! *hypocrites*!)

Now one of these girls came up to me with a political proposal that shocked me.

If you've read a particular post of mine or read my 3 points on the Left hand side, you'd know I'm heavily against politics. Of any kind. Of any sort. It's wrong. It's unfair. It's mean. And it leaves an undeserving someone hurt.

I'm not going to write what she said. All I'll say is that I defended our rep. And I told the girl how it was natural for someone to get angry with her when her participation's zero and complaint level sky high.

Her proposal was I admit, tempting. But cause of the impossibly dry moods and sophisticated mannerisms of fellow female classmates, and the hypocrisy that I just witnessed,  my answer was and is, no.

The most terrible force on earth

A.M.: It's the most terrible force on earth!
Z: Gasp! what does it do???
A.M.: It can twist and turn your insides! Burn you from within! Drain your soul out, leave you gasping for air n light... It can bend the most powerful man...
Z: Double Gasp!! :O What is it??!
A.M.: Oh..um.. diarrhoea.

LOLz. :D
