Steve Jobs... His Three Outstanding Stories to the World

On following your heart, making your own decisions and adding them up when it matters :
...You can't connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something... your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

On the three things life indiscriminately distributes to us all:

Loss
It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it.

Love
...The only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.

and Death
almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.

I remember reading the following as part of an article in our uni mag Kemcol 2010. It struck me then as it does now, listening to this video. I even quoted it in a post... I didn't know then of course that they were Jobs' words:

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

'Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish'
-Steve Jobs

What an amazing legendary person. He inspires you MACnanimously, in so many ways*.

He's gotten me thinking; on loving your work, thinking with your own head, ambitions, struggle, determination...
I haven't been working in med school, like I've really wanted to at all, it's a realisation that struck me hard a few months ago. I've stopped creatively thinking, questioning, being inquisitive... being hungry for being a doctor... even though this has truly been what I've always wanted. It is what I want.
I've been putting my mind to it now, and coming across this awe-inspiring Jobs vid couldn't have been timed better.

If there's a right time it's now, if there's a person's words to draw inspiration from, they're his:
It's time to

.....Yes sir! *Crunch!*
* He did though frown upon charity, refuse to acknowledge his daughter as his own and pay less than he should have to a friend. Let's try not to draw inspiration from that... shall we :P

Here comes the Sun

After eight long days of elevated temperature and headache... I'm finally feeling better!

There's so many down things happening...
I'm hoping for some optimism, hope, light... hoping for the sun to come out... and shine on us all!

Here comes the sun
