Toy Story 3....

I JUST saw it.... and I'm feeling all sad, nostalgic and sentimental...

It was 1995 when toy story 1 came out, my family and I were in cardiff and there was this HUGE craze wave  with everyone going 'wow' over the new computer animated cartoon out. It was unique, had a great story and was fun to watch over and over and over again...for everyone! I remember it being in the news, those particular toys getting popular at stores...

Years later I saw part 2 in saudia, and it turned out to be a great sequel! Jesse and Bullseye were a perfect addition to the toy story toys.

And so now, in Pakistan, after 15 or so years I saw the end, the finale: Toy Story 3!

It had a sad touch to it from the start... no Bo, no rc and Andy all grown up! The story was superb as usual, really funny at times... Woody really touches you as a character: brave, loyal, knows what's right... like he says... he's always there for you :')

Buzz's spanish dance was SO hilarious...! And the the way the toys executed out their mission was fun AND funny to watch...

But there are parts that really touch you... like when all the toys hold hands... when Andy's room is all packed up... the way Andy describes all the toys at the end... him hesitating to give Woody to that little girl... and finally when he drives off for college...

Awwwwwwwwwwwww :'S

They were such powerful scenes with raw, real life emotions being depicted so well!

So good bye Toy Story... and all the wonderful moments I've had with you... It's been 15 or so years, 3 countries... and a college going Andy since 1995.

I'll remember it forever!
Signing off with the tune of You've got a friend in me... in my mind...
Stay Amused!

  1. Uff ! your memories spanning-three.countries with the movie seem to make it sound even more nostalgic ! And the fact that I was also moved by the movie's last scene fills your words with full-to-the-brim feelings ! Here's what I wrote after watching the movie :

Okay I just finished watching Toy Story 3 . I don't know what it is about the end that makes you do *sniff * sniff * ! I mean throughout the movie you watch it with a stoicism that could make Aristotle proud ! ( err .. I may be mis-matching the philosopher and his philosophy but who cares...Afterall I don't have to give... a philosophy paper ! ) But near the end when Andy hesitates to give away his best toy Woody , its then you realize it wasn't about letting go of your toys ! It could easily bea metaphor about letting go of our innocent idealisms , our make-belief stories or dreams of what we want to be in real life ... But we tend to reach cross roads too soon , under pressure of making immediate decisions we hand-over the dreams to our younger ones...Our beautiful ideals watch us sped away toward pratical hand-on life and like Woody , silently whispers :

    So Long Partner !!

    *sniff* !

  4. you've put into words SO BEAUTIFULLY what we all felt... that it was a symbolic goodbye to everything innocent, pure, true... your childhood!!! Gosh made u remember ur own and how it'll never come back.. how you HAVE to move on!! For me it was more of WHY.. why do those golden play days have to end.. why do we have to grow up n old :'((((((

  5. Why did he have to groe up.. Why did he leave his toys behind... yes they'll be happy with a new owner n all.. but it won't be ANDY... Sigh things have to change.. the present turns into the past..but you do stop and shed a tear at the thought: why?

  7. Hehe Thank you Captain ! :) :) :) I was just going through your fb profile and guesss what ? thats THE >COOLEST profile I've ever seen on fb !

As for letting go of things...Just to avoid the pain of final Goodbye , man never say his official conscious final goodbyes . He wants all doors to be left ajar for him lest he should want to come back . Its like going on a new journey without unloading the old luggage from the car ; without making space for new luggage. With a chock-a-block car , he complain of lack of space and extra fuel requirements , never realizing its because of his cowardly escapade from bidding farewells :(

Thats a bit negative,I know, but thats the way I felt it was.
